Symmetric Daffodil Diamond Pattern

I started working on this pattern several weeks ago and finally brought it to finish. I wanted to create something with a symmetric, diamond layout and this is what came out.

I used a different approach when coloring this one. Color is the part of my work I'm always working through. My work is line-driven, and I'm often tempted to just...not color it at all. But I've been pushing myself to experiment, and this time I tried something new: a loose silhouette behind the colored lines that gives it a paper cut-out feel. I like it. It keeps the line work as the focus without leaving the pattern feeling flat.
