My 2025 Review & 2026 Goals
Happy New Year! 🥳
I’m kicking off the year with my review of 2025 and goals for 2026!
I use a very simple review format that I learned from my business coach so I can quickly assess my year, learn from what worked, and make a plan for the new year. You’ll also see me using a similar format for my monthly and quarterly reviews in the future.
Let’s get into it!
My 2025 Goal & What I Achieved
My goal for 2025 was to earn $442.44 in my business, and my plan was to earn this primarily through my Spoonflower shop.
I know that’s a super specific number, but I chose it because it was double what I earned in 2024 and I wanted to gently build off that success.
I’m writing this a couple of weeks before 2025 is over, but so far I’ve earned $872.33!
This was almost double my goal and 4 times what I earned last year, so I’m definitely celebrating the success this year.
Of my earnings, $796.53 came from my Spoonflower shop and the remaining $75.80 came from some random contests and small jobs I did within the communities I’m apart of.
How I Achieved My Goal—What Worked Well
My word for this year was focus, and I very much kept that in mind for the majority of this year. Last year I wanted to double down on my Spoonflower shop and get to 3,500 total designs in my shop, and I achieved that! Currently I have about 3,600 designs listed and keeping that focus definitely contributed to my success.
I didn’t stay 100% focused throughout the entire year. I took some detours and side roads. But ultimately I came back to Spoonflower as my main thing and dropped everything else I was doing.
Towards the end of the year, I also started to hone my design workflow and style. My work became more consistent and intentional for wallpaper and interiors. Because of this I made some large wallpaper sales toward the end of the year that gave my income a big boost!
My Goals & Plan for 2026
My natural inclination at the end of the year is to massively evolve and change what I’m doing for the upcoming year. However, this year really taught me that focus and consistency is key, especially in the early stages of building something from scratch. As boring as it may feel, I plan to keep up the momentum and follow a similar approach for next year.
My income goal for 2026 is to earn $3,600 in my business. This number is significant because it’s what’s required to cover basic business expenses so the business can be financially self-sufficient.
I plan to do this by continuing to focus on my Spoonflower shop and doing what’s already been working for me.
The only change I plan to make for the upcoming year is to slow down quite a bit.
Last year I focused on quantity and volume because I was still figuring out the intersection between my personal style and what sells well in my shop. Producing a lot of work allowed me to figure that out.
Next year, I will be creating about 1 design per week in a variety of colorways and will be more intentional about what I’m creating. I want my designs to fill in the gaps in my portfolio and in the market. I also plan to focus only on wallpaper and interiors, whereas last year I was designing a bit for crafting and quilting fabrics as well.
I’ll also be writing and publishing my newsletter each week to keep me focused and connected to my goals and plan!
