Doubling down on what’s working

Art + Biz Updates #23

Hey there,

It’s been a few weeks since my last letter, and I’ve been well! I took a quick trip to Vegas where I saw a ton of shows, ate a lot of good food, and actually managed to win some money. 🤑

I also had a birthday and turned 32. 🥳

And now I’m just soaking in the last few drops of summer. Honestly, I’m ready for it to be over because I really struggle with the heat. Plus, fall is the coziest season of the year!

I’ve been working on some new art that I’m not quite ready to share yet (soon!).

But excitingly, one of the pieces I created earlier this year has been taking off for me.

In a previous newsletter, I talked about a ginkgo leaf pattern I created last year for a friend and how I reimagined it into even more ginkgo leaf designs.

This one in particular has been a favorite in my Spoonflower shop~

I’ve been selling this one almost every week in multiple colorways on some fabric and mostly rolls of wallpaper! I love thinking about this design creating a cozy space in someone’s home. 😌

This has been a reminder to me to stop focusing on what’s not working and instead notice the things that are working and DOUBLE DOWN.

I plan on going through my other designs that are selling well and figuring out how I can reimagine them or build full collections around them. I’ve been in a creative flow lately, so I’m excited to just make more art!

Thanks for reading. Until next week,

Rachel
