Checking In on My January Goals
Today I’m doing a quick check-in on my goals and the progress I’ve made so far this month. I think we’ve all had that experience where we set a goal or an intention and then just completely forget about it over time. These monthly check-ins are my way of staying connected to my goals and ensuring I’m on track.
So let’s get into it!
Projects
My main focus for the year is to continue to grow my Spoonflower shop and share my progress and growth in these newsletters each week, so my monthly goals are going to be pretty consistent throughout the year.
This month, my plan is to:
- Create 10 new designs to be published to my Spoonflower shop.
- Write and send out a newsletter every week.
Progress
Designs
So far this month I’ve created 5 new designs, which I’ll be publishing to my shop throughout the month.
Here’s a quick peak at them if you’re curious:

I created these designs after spending some time going through my best-sellers from last year and taking note of what themes sold best. Prior to this year, I didn’t really know what kind of work I wanted to create that would also sell, so I was designing a wide variety of things. But now the data has pointed me in a really clear direction so I’m going to be creating a lot of designs that fit these best-selling themes.
Newsletters
So far I’ve stuck to this plan! I’ve been planning my writing days ahead of time and making notes of what I want to talk about as they randomly come up in my day. Deciding ahead of time what days are writing days and connecting this newsletter to my bigger goals has been key to keeping me consistent so far.
That’s it for this quick update! So far I’m on track to complete all my goals.
At the end of the month I’ll be visiting Japan for 2.5 weeks, so next week I’ll be finishing up my designs for the month and writing a few newsletters ahead of time to share while I'm away.
